What does your art bring to you?

Art is, above all, a form of expression. For me, it is mainly the expression of the feelings that life gives me, mainly joy and happiness. It’s the transcription of the emotions I feel in images through vivid colors.

It is notably a form of trance, a bubble in which I find myself when I am alone with my canvas, where I think of nothing and I let myself be carried by the flow and positive energies.

On the other hand, art gives me a feeling of curiosity. I am a young artist just starting out in this world and I have so much to learn from others, from their vision and from myself. In order to broaden the scope of my knowledge and observe the world in a different way and give it a multitude of meanings.

What artwork would you like to see in real life?

There isn’t really a work that I would particularly like to see. I always want to see more, to discover more through my own eyes and that of the artist to know his vision and his philosophy. I want to be able to have the chance to see as much as possible. Ranging from modern movements to renaissance, emerging artists to those who have marked our society.

What are your inspirations?

The sources of my inspiration are above all the music and the colors of my country. Music is essential when I paint, and it’s what will determine the energy of my brush and the emotions. In addition, I seek to express the sights, sounds and colors of our island in my own way. On the other hand, I try to get the most out of Mauritian artistic culture. I took a sabbatical year in order to be able to discover art in Mauritius and local artists in order to learn from them, discover their vision of our island, how it transcribes it through their art and in particular to be able to inspire me.

What are your dreams?

I don’t know if I have a specific dream … it comes, and it goes, or it evolves. I mainly want to meet as much as possible, discuss and share with other artists. I would like to be able to flourish as much as possible in this area and one day be able to make a living from this passion.

What is your favourite quote?
